Did the mascara dry or did the eyeshadow break? No desperation! Here we teach you simple tips to fix broken or dry makeup yourself using products you can easily find. Check out.
1 – Shattered Shadow
Who hasn’t dropped a shadow and seen their investment scattered in a thousand pieces? Now, if this happens again, you won’t need to buy a new one or throw the broken eyeshadow away. See the step-by-step guide to fix it:
As soon as the unfortunate accident happens, gather as much of her dust as you can. Put it back in the eyeshadow jar and add a few drops of alcohol. Stir well with a spatula or ice cream stick. The shadow will turn into a paste. That done, with a PVC plastic (those you use in the kitchen), cover the shade and use the spatula to leave the smooth paste in the pot. Let it dry for a while (when it is dry you will notice) and then it will be ready to use again.
The tip to prevent this from happening is to always be very careful when using powder makeup. For example, when applying make-up, don’t leave the products near the corner of a piece of furniture, as you can bump it and knock it over. It is worth remembering that this tip works for any powder makeup: blush, face powder, etc.
2 – Broken lipstick
One of the most common things to happen with makeup is lipstick breaking. Some creamier versions are even more susceptible to this misfortune because they are more “soft”. If it melts, the solution is to put it in the fridge to cool down and return to normal shape.
However, if it really breaks, you will have to use the following trick: with a lighter, heat the broken part and “glue” it to the lipstick base as if it were a candle. The heat will melt this part and it will be easy to attach it to the bottom of the lipstick. Once this is done, leave it in the fridge for the lipstick to firm up again.
To prevent this from happening to your lipsticks, never open the lipstick too much and be very careful when applying it. Another tip is to avoid leaving it exposed to heat in the car or near windows and warm places in the house.
3 – Dry mascara
When the mascara dries, the ideal is to drip a few drops of saline solution or eye drops and mix well with the brush. This should help to soften the product. Unfortunately, the trick doesn’t work with waterproof mascaras. To prevent the mascara from drying out, the ideal is to always keep it tightly closed, for that, clean the opening of the package after use.
4 – Dry gel eyeliner
When your eyeliner or gel eyeshadow dries, you don’t need to use it. The trick to soften the product is to put it in a water bath until it melts. It is important to measure the water before boiling it so that the pot does not float and water does not get into it.
After leaving it in a water bath for some time, stir it with a spatula and organize the product inside the pot. After that, the product will be ready to use. It is possible that some products need to stay a little longer in a water bath than others due to the variation in their formulas.
As with mascara, care must be taken to ensure that gel makeup doesn’t dry out is not to leave it open for a long time and always close the jar well after use.
5 – Hardened enamel
To soften the nail polish, add a few drops of banana oil to the bottle, stir well and use as normal. It is worth remembering that expired or very old enamel is difficult to apply and may not result in a beautiful finish. A tip to prevent the enamel from hardening ahead of time is to always clean the “mouth” of the bottle after using it. Thus, you guarantee that it is completely sealed when closing and this will increase its duration and quality.
Now that you know the main tricks to fix makeup, no more throwing new products in the trash.
