How to preserve strawberries: 5 practical ways to keep the fruit fresh

Strawberry is a difficult fruit to store in natura – after all, it ripens very quickly and ends up spoiling. So there are some techniques that help keep it fresh and delicious for longer! Read on and learn how to preserve strawberries in the freezer, fridge or even preserves:

1. How to store strawberries in the freezer

  1. Check the strawberries one by one and make sure there are no spoiled parts;
  2. Remove the green stalks and wash the strawberries with running water;
  3. Dry the strawberries lightly with a paper towel;
  4. With a knife, remove the remaining stalk;
  5. Slice the strawberries into slices and distribute on a separate baking sheet;
  6. Place in the freezer for about 20 minutes or until frozen.
  7. Store frozen strawberries in plastic bags and return to the freezer.

2. How to preserve strawberries with water and salt

  1. Place all the strawberries in a bowl;
  2. Cover the strawberries with water and add the equivalent of 1/4 tablespoon of salt to each strawberry tray;
  3. Mix everything and let it soak for 5 minutes;
  4. Drain the strawberries and discard the water;
  5. Wash the strawberries under running water to remove the remaining salt;
  6. Arrange the strawberries on top of a cloth and wait for it to dry well;
  7. Transfer to another bowl and store in the fridge for up to 1 week!

3. How to preserve strawberries with vinegar

  1. Wash the strawberries in running water;
  2. In a large bowl, place 500 ml of water;
  3. Add 50 ml of vinegar and mix well;
  4. Pour the strawberry into this solution and leave for 30 seconds;
  5. Drain the strawberries and place them on a paper towel. Remove excess water by lightly pressing another paper towel;
  6. Line another container with a lid with paper towels and place the strawberries next to each other;
  7. Cover this strawberry layer with another sheet of paper towel and place more strawberries on top;
  8. Repeat the process, making another layer of paper towel and strawberries, cover the container and store in the fridge;
  9. So you keep the fruit fresh for up to 2 weeks!

4. How to preserve strawberries with bleach

  1. In a bowl, put 1 liter of water and mix with 1 tablespoon of bleach;
  2. Place the strawberries inside this mixture;
  3. Let it soak for about 10 minutes;
