How to Make “French Fries” in the Microwave Without Using Oil

Ingredients

Preparation mode

1. The big trick for this recipe to work is to cut the potato, which should be as thin as possible. Therefore, the best thing to do is to use a vegetable slicer, but if you don’t have one, cut with a knife, always looking for very thin slices.

2. You can slice the potatoes with or without the skin, it just depends on your taste. If you choose to keep the peel, wash it well before cutting.

3. Once sliced, wash the potatoes very well until the water runs clear. This step is important to remove excess starch, making them “fry” faster. Keep the cuts in a bowl of water while you continue to prepare.

4. Line the microwave plate with parchment paper, leaving everything ready to receive the potatoes. If you don’t have parchment paper, you can grease it with a little oil;

5. Remove the slices from the water and dry them very well with paper towels on both sides. This is very important for your potato to stay dry.

6. Now, spread the slices on top of the microwave plate, making just a layer of potatoes. If they don’t all fit, “fry” them in more than one stage, as one cannot overlap the other.
