How to make an Astral Map – Step by step

The Astral Map template that we are going to teach you is simple and for beginners!

If you want to go deeper into this knowledge, make your Astral Map.

With this material, you will receive all the information for reading Astral Map. Thus, you will know their main characteristics and how they are manifested in each house of the Astral Map.

You will also learn what each planet means and how it all works in practice.

Step 1

Use a compass to draw three concentric circles on a sheet of paper.

The inner circle should be very small in relation to the outer circles. Use an already drawn horoscope as a template to make it easier.

step 2

Divide the spaces between the two outer circles into twelve equal sections. Each section will symbolize one of the twelve zodiac signs (Cancer, Libra etc).

step 3

Put the signs in sequential order. If you know the time of birth, determine the Ascendant (rising sign) before placing the signs in their spaces.

If the horoscope is for a location of North latitude, place the sign of the Ascendant in the leftmost section, which represents East when looking south from a location to the North. Then fill in the remaining signs counterclockwise.

If the location is a South latitude, place the Ascendant sign in the rightmost section and then fill in the rest clockwise.

step 4

Divide each section (sign) into thirty equal degrees. The entire circle has 360 degrees. Mark the degrees on the second circle.

You can mark just one degree or another, if you wish. But don’t forget that the angles between the points on the circle will be essential when interpreting the map. Therefore, accuracy is important.

step 5

Calculate your Ascendant by the date and time of your birth in a table of ascendants from an ephemeris guide.

The ephemeris guide is a table with the position of celestial bodies in a certain period – you can buy one, look it up in a library or download it online.

The Ascendant is the zodiac sign that is rising over the eastern horizon at a certain time (birthtime) at a certain location (birthplace) on Earth.

Thus, an important tip on how to make a very accurate Astral Map is to know the longitude and latitude of the person’s place of birth (if you don’t have a reliable map, search online for “longitude of <>“), as well as the time and date. Exact Sciences.

There are free computer programs to download online that indicate the Ascendant if you provide the necessary information.

step 6

Mark the Ascendant in the Astral Chart. The computer program or ephemeris guide you use to determine the Rising sign will tell you the location (in degrees) within that sign. For example, Virgo at twelve degrees.

To locate the correct point, find the sign (in this case Virgo) on the map and, moving towards the sign, count the number of degrees from the “start” edge of the sign.

Step 7

Determine the positions of the Moon, Sun and planets and mark them on your map. Consult the ephemeris guide, or the computer program again, to find the locations within the zodiac.

These locations will be indicated in both sign and degrees. Mark the positions in the spaces between the two inner circles on the map.

Indicate the positions with glyphs (symbols used to represent each of the celestial bodies) and write the location in degrees next to the symbols.

step 8

Draw the houses. Houses are imaginary divisions (usually twelve), each one signifying an aspect of a person’s life (money, children, family, personality, etc).

These aspects are in the large space on the map between the inner circle and the second circle. Use the matching house system, where each house is thirty degrees wide.

The “initial” edge of the first house is drawn on the ascending. If the ascendant is at twelve degrees in Leo, the first house will run from there to twelve degrees in Virgo and the second house will run twelve degrees in Virgo to twelve degrees in Libra. And so on. The houses are numbered from one to twelve in an anti-clockwise direction.

Step 9

To learn how to make an Astral Map, you will also need to calculate aspects. An aspect is the angle formed between a pair of celestial bodies, with the Earth as the center (vertex) of the angle.

You can estimate aspects just by looking at the map. For example, imagine that the map is a clock. If the Sun is located at the twelve o’clock position of the clock and Venus at the three o’clock position, the angle between the two will be ninety degrees.

For greater accuracy, calculate aspects using the degree reading recorded on the map, knowing that the entire circle has 360 degrees and that each sign has thirty degrees. If desired, draw the aspects in the center circle.
