How to keep the house in order

To keep the house always in order, it is important to keep everything in its place. When there is no specific place for certain objects, they end up scattered around the house and then the rooms become a mess.

Having a place to store every kind of belongings makes it easy to keep the house in order. Whenever you use an object, immediately put it back in its place. If you and your family have this discipline of organization, the house will stay tidy for longer. Check out some tips on how to keep the house in order by taking care of each room:

house entrance hall

Usually when we get home, we want to get rid of the weights we’re carrying and end up dumping everything in the driveway. However, this is the easiest way to make the whole house look messy.

The ideal would be to have a closet or sideboard with drawers, this way you can store keys and correspondence in an organized way, preventing them from being exposed on countertops and tables. Some families also choose to leave their own space to put their shoes in the hall, so they are organized instead of lying on the floor of the house.

Kitchen

Keep the kitchen tidy, starting with the dishes. Try to keep up with washing utensils and put them away as soon as they are dry. If you tend to leave a lot of objects on the kitchen counters, try to find a space for them in a closet or in organizing boxes. The space on top of the fridge and microwave can be used as long as it is carefully, avoiding putting too much weight on top of the appliance and without exaggerating the number of items on top of the fridge.

Usually exposed objects give the impression that the house is messy even when they are organized, so avoid leaving too many objects on display in the kitchen. Foods that are left out of the fridge should be placed in jars to be tidier and hygienically preserved.

bedrooms

The rule for bedrooms is similar to the rule for the kitchen: keep belongings in cupboards out of sight. But of course it’s also important to keep your closets organized. Leaving your bed and clothes in their place is the first step in keeping your room in order. Avoid leaving dirty clothes and shoes on the floor, have a place for these objects.

Clothes that are only used in winter or that are rarely used can be kept in boxes and the same should be done with objects that are less frequently used, this way you get more space in the closets and wardrobe to be able to organize your belongings.

Living room

The room also needs to be free of stray objects. Try to keep only the necessary exposed in the room, such as magazines and the remote control. Even these objects can have a specific place to be organized, like coffee table drawers. If you have a lot of magazines, try to organize them in drawers or boxes or donate a part of them.

Some objects of common use by the family, such as cell phone chargers, extra house keys, equipment manuals, telephone book, among others, can be kept in a closet.

Office

As offices or study areas tend to have larger volumes of paper and several books and notebooks, it is essential to have a closet to organize these items. In addition, you can count on folders with dividers and folders with elastic bands to store and organize documents and other important papers.

Always keep the most used and necessary objects in easily accessible places and in the front of the cabinets. Less used items can be placed further back and at the top and bottom of closets.

WC

In the bathroom it is important to use the closet space to store toiletries and towels, for example. Have some hooks to hang used towels neatly and a used laundry basket so they don’t get scattered on the floor. Avoid leaving a toothbrush or toothpaste in the sink, as in addition to being unhygienic, it is a way to make the bathroom messy.

Pantry

Separate your cleaning products from food if you store both in the pantry. Run away from the rubble and get rid of the objects you no longer use. Stacking old boxes in the pantry takes up space and can attract moths and mites. Try to keep pantry objects organized in cabinets, shelves or in more robust boxes that can be on the floor, in corners or under cabinets.
