How to define a career plan according to Capitão Nascimento

People want to grow, develop and advance in their careers, but do they know what they’re getting into? Who will help us think about career progression today is Captain Nascimento through the two films Elite Squad.

Captain Nascimento was a man convinced of his position, he was proud of his career, he believed in what he did, he knew his value and even said: “I am not a conventional police officer, I am from BOPE”.

But there was a moment when he had to choose, prioritizing career or family life. The saga begins with his attempt to look for a replacement. The attempt was frustrated, he had a vocation. And this vocation was stronger than the family’s tolerance. His career path moved forward, but the family got in the way.

But let’s continue the story: Captain Nascimento, seeing that his career was incompatible with his new family phase, tried to look for his replacement. At this point, it’s no use just evaluating the curriculum, there were several candidates and all were police officers.

In the second film, in the face of an error by a member of his team, Commander Nascimento assumes all responsibility, even under the protest of Captain Mathias who wanted to assume all responsibility.
