How are the actors of “The Matrix” more than 20 years after the premiere

Directed by the Wachowski sisters, Matrix is a science fiction film that premiered in theaters in 1999. The story, starring a hacker called Neo (Keanu Reeves), plunges us into an alternate reality, a parallel world full of struggles and situations that most of the population is unaware of. A great adventure whose main objective is to question the reality in which we live.

More than two decades have passed and the awesome.club decided to check out how some of the actors of this great success have changed, which marked a generation.

Keanu Reeves played Neo, the film’s protagonist. This is a young programmer who is hacker in his free time and discovers a reality he wants to know more about. Keanu Reeves’ career, as you may already know, didn’t stop after this huge success and he received great acclaim for films like John Wick: Back in the Game and Siberia🇧🇷 Soon we will be able to see the actor again in the role of Neo, in the fourth film of the saga Matrix🇧🇷

The Canadian actress played Trinity, a hacker who lived inside the Matrix and decides to leave to join the group in the fight against the machines. Carrie-Anne Moss also did not stop working after this great success and participated in films such as Pompeii and Never Say Your Name, as well as in the series Jessica Jonesamong other successes.

Fishburne plays Morpheus, the leader of the group that rebels against the machines. He is Neo’s great mentor and ally and is charged with protecting him, guiding him and teaching him everything he doesn’t know until the moment they meet.

Laurence Fishburne already had a successful career before playing Morpheus, perhaps one of the most famous characters in Matrix🇧🇷 After the premiere, he worked on other great films, among them Batman v Superman – Dawn of Justicepassengers and Ant-Man and the Wasp.

Probably the greatest villain in history, Agent Smith is played by actor Hugo Weaving, whose main objective is to defeat the rebels and arrest Morpheus.

Like other castmates, Hugo also had an important career, but after playing this great villain, he participated in other great successes, among them Lord of the Rings🇧🇷 v for Vendetta🇧🇷 Captain America: The First Avenger, The tripamong many others.

Joe began working as an actor in the early 1980s and has gradually and with great effort created a long and solid career. In 1999, he had the opportunity to play Cypher, in the film Matrix, an ally of Morpheus who ends up becoming one of his greatest enemies, when he secretly works for Agent Smith. Joe Pantoliano continued acting in cinema and participated in films such as Bad Boys Forever🇧🇷 Daredevil — The Man Without Fear and Amnesia.

In the first two films of the saga Matrix, Gloria Foster was in charge of interpreting the Oracle, a mysterious being full of knowledge and wisdom that guides humans in their fight against machines, using calculations and predictions. The actress, who already had a long career in film and television, died in 2001. She was last seen in the film Matrix Reloaded, in 2003 (posthumous appearance).

Tank was also a member of Morpheus’ team and an indispensable part of the ship’s crew. Marcus Chong participated in the first film and since then has been seen sporadically in series such as numb3rs or Law and Order: Premeditated Crimes and in some short films.

Switch was also a member of the ship’s crew and a member of the rebel group. The character was played by Australian Belinda McClory, who continues to work as an actress both in cinema (The Soldier Protocol) as on television (glitch🇧🇷

Anthony Ray Parker played Dozer, the ship’s pilot who also looked after the health and well-being of the crew. After playing the character, the actor worked in the cinema (Shadowboxing 2: Revenge) and on television (Prison Break), usually playing small roles.
