Can you believe that the inspiring fitness muse was once absolutely sedentary? “One of my biggest frustrations was not having played sports. I didn’t even twist. My mother never encouraged it, she worked a lot”, says Bella, who was born in Uberlândia, in the interior of Minas Gerais, but was raised in Belo Horizonte. In her late teens, she chose college by elimination. “I knew I didn’t want anything exact, I hadn’t been interested in the health area yet… I did it right.”
But, at the age of 21, he was already sure that he would not work with that – and dropped everything in the 8th semester to study in the United States. “Until I settled down, I worked in a bakery, as a taxi driver… That was when I started doing an internship at Banco do Brasil, in Orlando. He arrived early, left late, he wanted to show his work. Eager to grow professionally, he barely ate breakfast, swapped lunch for a snack, ate a hamburger with soda… cholesterol was high, I had kidney stones. She was fake thin, flabby and full of cellulite. In addition to affecting my health, it shook my self-esteem, ”she recalls.

That was in 2011. “So, I met Diana Monteiro, a fitness athlete from Ribeirão Preto [SP], wife of a friend. They came to Disney and stayed at home. I was blown away by her body. I knew that if I had willpower I would get there. And I didn’t even want all that, no. Just nice abs…” Diana handed over some of her routine and her diet and Bella continued on her own, reading books on holistic nutrition, researching and following everything to the letter.
“For the first two months, the office staff thought I was going crazy. I would take lunch box, open it in the kitchen and that egg smell would come… But after six months, when the results started to show, I was born again! The more we achieve, the more motivated we are and the more results we get. I started to inspire the people around me. It was a kind of domino effect. I used Instagram as a filter for the photos I took and posted on Facebook. In 2012, I had about 500 followers and that was already a lot!” Well the Bella’s Insta it grew and grew… and today it has 2.7 M! “I included motivational texts, because I’ve always liked to write – I practically have a book ready, which I haven’t published yet, with this collection.”
In January 2013, Bella went to a fitness fair. Already with 200,000 followers, she was surprised when she saw people in a 40-minute queue to take a picture with her. “This feedback and this affection were the incentive for me to reinvent myself. I knew that to continue to be successful on the networks I needed three pillars: being absolutely truthful (I share everything: victories and failures), passing on quality information and adding content, and bringing news.” It was then that Bella decided to study nutrition. And participate in your first competition. “I have to confess that I wasn’t even that motivated.
