Find out which are the favorite Disney princesses of Brazilians (in order)

Disney is responsible for creating a magical universe, full of special characters that captivate children and adults over the years. Disney princesses have become iconic, with stories that mark generations. Now, do you know who the Brazilians’ favorite princess is?

We, from awesome.club, we used Google search data over the last year to see which princesses are most searched for by Brazilians. The top 1 surprised us, but it makes total sense!

11th place: Emerald

Emerald is at the bottom of our list. The character is not officially considered a Disney princess. However, the animation The Hunchback of Notre Dame is so significant, that she needed to be present here.

10th place: Sleeping Beauty

Sleeping Beauty, or rather Princess Aurora, followed closely behind. Did you know that the physical features of the 1959 character were inspired by actress Audrey Hepburn?

9th place (tie): Bella

Oops… it’s a draw! Three princesses occupy the ninth position in the ranking. The first of them is Bella. The 1991 film was adapted into live action in 2017, with actress Emma Watson in the role of the adventurous princess.

9th place (tie): Tiana

Tiana from the movie The princess and the Frog, released in 2009, also ranks ninth on our list. The beautiful character made history by becoming Disney’s first black princess.

9th place (tie): Cinderella

8th place: Rapunzel

Although Rapunzel’s fairy tale is iconic and her story has been part of children’s imagination for generations, Disney’s first animated film featuring the princess, called rolled upwas only released in 2010.

7th place: Anastasia

Was it strange to see Princess Anastasia in seventh place on the list? Although the film was originally produced by 20th Century Fox, the company was bought by Disney in a deal announced in 2017. So, technically, we can say that Anastasia has become a Disney princess. Because it’s so iconic, we felt it needed to be a part of our play.

6th place: Jasmine

Jasmine ranks sixth. In 2019, the princess of the Arab world was played by Naomi Scott in the adaptation live action in Aladdin🇧🇷

5th place: Ariel

Princess Ariel’s self-discovery journey secured fifth place in the hearts of Brazilians. Searches for her name may have increased with the announcement that actress Halle Bailey would play the princess in live action in The Little Mermaid🇧🇷 We can’t wait for this release!

4th place: Pocahontas

Did you know there was a real Pocahontas? In real history, Pocahontas was the nickname of the Amerindian Matoaka, who married the Englishman John Rolfe. As much information about her life was passed orally between generations, much information is controversial. Anyway, her image is so striking that she became a Disney animation in 1995.

3rd place: Snow White

2nd place: Mulan

Mulan almost didn’t take first place — and it’s no wonder! In the film’s story, the Chinese princess shows how women are capable of anything. The announcement of the launch of live action in mulan it must also have boosted searches for the heroine’s name.

1st place: Elsa

Did you ever imagine that Elsa would be in first place? the princess of Frozen is the “newest” on the list — as the film was released in 2013. Frozen II hit theaters in 2019, it makes total sense that Brazilians would want to know more about the princess in 2020.
