Stories of the Orisha of Protection

Exú has several interesting stories, one of which tells that the Orisha was a messenger of Oxalá during the creation of the world. So, the legend says that the Orisha participated in the creation of the world being a messenger, who is called Olorum or Olodumare. Thus, in his role as messenger, Eshu had to come to Earth to assess whether the world could be inhabited by human beings and Orixás created by God.

When he arrived on the planet, the Orisha no longer wanted to return to heaven, and became the first Orisha to know the Earth and remain on it. Therefore, Eshu was the first Orisha to be worshiped and referenced by nations that existed in the dawn of humanity. Only after this Orisha was recognized by African religions.
