Discover Shinsokan Meditation – Blog

Before we talk about this powerful meditation, we need to know more about the Seicho-No-Ie movement, have you heard of it? Its proposal is to transmit the meaning of life and the joy of living to all people.

Seicho-No-Ie was founded in 1930 in Japan by Masaharu Taniguchi, who from an early age was looking for solutions to the world’s suffering and its contradictions. He looked to various religions and philosophies for answers to his most fundamental questions, until one day, while immersed in his meditation, he received a divine revelation as a voice, which seemed to say:

“Matter does not exist! Human flesh does not exist! Suffering does not exist! What truly exists is only God and what came from Him! Man is not flesh, he is spirit, he is perfect, he is sinless, he is immortal! God is within every man. The environment and circumstances are a reflection of the mind. Change your mind, and life will change. Man himself is the one who creates his happiness!”

This completely changed Masaharu’s way of seeing the world, which changed his life completely. After this experience, he wanted to share this joy and wisdom with as many people as possible and decided to publish this thought about human life in a monthly magazine called Seicho-No-Ie (Home of Infinite Progress).

Shinsokan meditation as a way of understanding life

We need to understand that we are not matter, that we are spiritual beings, we need to discover God, who dwells in all of us. For this purpose the Shinsokan meditationto bring that enlightenment.

The practice consists of observing, through a contemplative method, our own being. The idea is to accept the statement: “Yes, I am a child of God, thank you very much”. It is as if there was an internal dialogue in each one, in which we mentalize when breathing in: “God’s life flows into my interior and becomes my life”. It is the same as saying “I am a child of God”. Then, we must hold the air in the abdomen and mentalize: “By the life of God I am filled, I am vivified”, which is the same as saying: “Yes, I am a child of God, thank you very much”.

  • As a method of mental tuning: studies show that the mental state we are in before going to sleep is very important, as all the activity of the whole day continues in action, even if our body is already relaxed. With meditation 10 minutes before bed, we can direct our mind wherever we want, away from destructive and negative thoughts, to have a good night’s sleep.
  • To supply yourself with biomagnetic energy: when we put our two hands together, our body becomes a kind of battery, activating three centers of spiritual powers. Thus, you start to radiate bioenergy, inducing other people in the same way and it is possible to capture the vivifying force that permeates the universe.
  • To get in touch with the Universal God: Through meditation, our particular God gets in touch with the Universal God, asking for guidance and listening to His words.
