The costume detail was revealed by the godmother Nell Goddard, who commented: “My friend got married last month and her dress, like all the bridesmaids dresses, had pockets. And yes, we use them to store treats, thanks for asking,” she joked.

The chosen brand, KF Bridal, charged £5, approximately R$ 25, to put pockets on the dresses.

The bride criticized the charge. “You wouldn’t expect anyone to hire [um serviço de] suits for men and had to pay extra to add pockets, so the idea of ​​women having to go through that is insane.”

Additionally, she believes the positive response her initiative has seen demonstrates the demand for women’s clothing to be designed with functional pockets.

“Pockets are such a small issue compared to the global oppression of women, but I believe it is part of a larger error that says women should look more beautiful than usefully equipped. But why should we have to choose between those two things?”
