Benefits of Ojon Oil for your hair

Ojon Oil, a recent launch in the Brazilian hair cosmetics market, is an oil with the same constitution as hair keratin, rich in amino acids and natural antioxidants, which promises to surpass the already known Argan Oil, providing recovery, intense shine, strength and protection from the daily aggressions to the threads.

Also called Batana Oil or American Oil, Ojon Oil is extracted from the nut of the Ojon palm, typical of the tropical forest of Honduras. This oil has been used for many years throughout the Caribbean and Central America as an ally in hair treatments, having been introduced by the Tawira Miskito tribe, whose name means “people with beautiful hair”.

The production of Ojon Oil is the basis for the livelihood of Honduran tribes, who have nicknamed it a precious liquid, both for being an indispensable source of income and for its power in aesthetic treatments for the hair and also for the skin.

What types of hair can benefit from Ojon Oil?

Honduran oil is mainly indicated for dry hair or hair that has suffered any type of damage, either by the use of chemicals, such as straightening and dyeing or by excessive exposure to the heat of the sun, dryer or thermal boards.

There is no contraindication in the use of Ojon Oil, even those who tend to have great sensitivity in the hair and scalp can use it, as its assets are composed of lipids similar to those naturally found in the hair.

The use of this oil should only be avoided before coloring or chemical treatments – such as straightening or perms, because, as it works as a protector of the hair structure, it can interfere with the action of opening the hair cuticle for the deposit of substances that will color, straighten or curl your hair.

How to use Ojon Oil in favor of your hair

Ojon Oil comes in several forms: pure oil, serum, anti-frizz, treatment mask, shampoo and conditioner. Each product has an application function.

  • The pure oil is used as a thermal protector and must be applied to the strands still wet, before the dryer, flat iron or babyliss;
  • Serum and anti-frizz should be applied to dry hair, to control frizz, give shine and softness;
  • The treatment mask should be used on curly hair or those that are dry by chemical agents such as weekly or fortnightly hydration;
  • Shampoo and conditioner are free to use for all hair and without frequency restrictions.

“Ojon Oil came to complement the treatments on damaged hair, taking into account what Argan Oil could not completely repair. Much denser and fuller, this oil, which is rich in lipid load and cysteine, is able to compose the fibers and minimize the wear and tear suffered by the hair, restoring shine and leaving it silky.”, says Wagner Ramos, owner of the Alawys salon. , in Sao Paulo.

Celebrities like Gisele Bündchen, Demi Moore, Liv Tyler, Rachel Bilson, Catherine Zeta Jones, Scarlett Johansson and even Orlando Bloom have already adhered to this treatment oil that smells like caramel and promises to be the new ally in hair plastic treatments. It’s worth betting on this news!
