9 tips to make life easier for all lazy people

You even have plans to get up early, stop by the fair, take the dog for a walk, and leave your coats at the laundry. But when the alarm goes off, all you can do is hit snooze and go back to sleep.

Or, you’ve already paid for the gym until the end of the year in order to “make yourself go”, but your bed is so warm and comfortable than the treadmill that you just don’t care about the amount invested anymore.

You’ve probably also found yourself hanging around an upside-down house and couldn’t find your keys or cell phone when you were already late to leave the house – that’s because you tend to leave your belongings around for the sheer lack of care. I want to keep them in the right place.

Believe me: if you fit into these situations, we are dealing with a very famous case of laziness. All right, don’t be ashamed, it happens in the best families.

The problem is that excessive laziness ends up disrupting people’s routine, harming their productivity and personal life. If you identified yourself, check out the tips we prepared to make life easier for lazy people:

1. Sleep well

If you’re already lazy by nature, being tired isn’t going to help you at all. So ensure a refreshing night’s sleep, at least 8 hours long in a quiet and dark environment.

2. Trick your mind to exercise

If going to the gym is unthinkable, try to trick your mind to keep practicing some physical activities. For example, instead of just going for walks, plan on taking the dog for a walk. Other tips are to use the stairs instead of the elevator and get off the public transport one stop earlier to complete the journey by walking.

3. Sleep in gym clothes

Your case is different: you like to go to the gym, but the problem is getting up to train? So the solution is to sleep in gym clothes! If you wake up ready to exercise, you’re already halfway to motivating yourself to get out of bed.

4. Leave the curtains open at bedtime

Another tip for those who have difficulty getting out of bed: leave the curtains open when you go to sleep. That way, when the sun starts to shine the next morning, it will be easier to encourage yourself to get up.

5. Use the 60 second rule

Keeping a blouse in the closet, washing a plate, filing a bill… All these are activities that lazy people tend to leave for later, but never do again. To keep your life from becoming a mess, use the 60-second rule: Will it take you less than 60 seconds to complete a task? So do it now. Will it take longer? Okay, leave it for later.

6. Get your meals ready

A packet of margarine crackers is not dinner, even if the laziness of cooking tells you that it is perfectly acceptable. To preserve your health and your waistline, choose a day of the week to prepare your meals in large quantities and freeze the portions for the next few days.

7. Turn off your cell phone notifications

If you are easily distracted by any alerts you receive on your phone and spend a lot of time procrastinating on social media instead of doing what needs to be done, try turning off notifications when you need to focus. Looking at a new WhatsApp message may seem fast, but this interruption will end up taking you away from work or study for a lot longer than you’d like.

8. Surround yourself with motivated friends

The people around you influence your way of being and acting. If the people you hang out with the most are lazy and leave everything for later, it’s quite possible that you’ll understand that it’s okay to act this way. However, if you’re surrounded by people who are motivated, full of energy and committed to their tasks, you’ll practically force yourself to get into the groove.

9. Enjoy your moments of rest

It seems contradictory, but it is common for lazy people not to be able to enjoy their leisure time – after all, they have not been able to fulfill their obligations and feel that they should use the rest time to catch up on tasks.

However, dedicating your weekend to work or trading moments with loved ones for activities you should have done and didn’t will only serve to frustrate you. Rest time should be reserved for relaxation.

Temptations are many, we know, but failing to fulfill your day-to-day obligations to lie on the couch will only delay your life, preventing you from achieving your goals. Courage! The hardest part is taking the first step.
