Who has never, for a moment of carelessness or distraction, soiled a favorite outfit or some upholstery with something that is very difficult to remove? When this happens, we immediately think of looking for homemade recipes or mixing several cleaning products in order to remove the stain – which should not be done, as it can cause health problems. But what to do then? Well, the good news is that there are ways to have your piece brand new with things we find around the house.
Thinking about it, the awesome.club separated some tricks for you to remove even the most difficult stains without suffocating and without putting your health at risk. Check out!
1. Carbonated water
Drinks based on grapes or other fruits with a dark color tend to stain fabrics and upholstery quite easily, especially lighter colored ones. However, a simple and inexpensive way to prevent this process is to wet the area with plenty of carbonated water with the help of a flannel and rinse. This can be repeated several times until the stain is completely removed. The trick, however, is most effective on fresh stains.
2. Boiling water and borax
Spilled coffee on an outfit and don’t want the spot to get a stain? A simple solution is, as soon as the accident happens, pour boiling water over the spot and rub it gently with some borax. Then just wash the fabric normally, and your piece will be like new.
3. Shaving cream
Carpets and sofas tend to stain quite often, whether it’s because of something spilled or dirty shoes. But to clean them efficiently and quickly, you just need to apply shaving cream over the area, let it act for a few minutes and rinse with hot water right away.
4. Glycerin
Already glycerin, a colorless liquid easily found in pharmacies and a natural solvent, can help you get rid of mustard, coffee and tar stains, which is present in coal. To obtain a good result, the ideal is to apply the product over the area and wait 1 hour before washing the item normally.
5. Milk
Has it ever happened to you to stain your favorite clothes with paint? Know that this stain can be removed by simply soaking the dirty piece overnight in milk. This process is also useful for removing lipstick stains from synthetic fabrics. To do this, just leave the milk in place for a few minutes. If it still doesn’t come out, mix it with a little vinegar.
6. Meat tenderizer
Did you know that meat tenderizer, yes that little powder you use to cook, can also be used to remove stains? Well, in case you end up getting your clothes dirty while you’re in the kitchen with that liquid from the meat, just put a little fabric softener on the spot and let it act for a few minutes. This happens because the product breaks down the proteins and makes it easier to remove in conventional washing.
7. Fixing spray
Hair fixing spray, in addition to leaving hairstyles in place for longer, also serves to remove grease stains from clothes. The method of use is very simple, just apply a good amount over the place and then rinse well with warm water and dishwashing detergent.
