1. Labor market

According to IBGE, women’s income is equivalent to about Âľ of men’s income. While the average income of men was R$2,306, that of women was R$1,764. That is, women receive 76.5% of the amount received by men.

In some developed countries in Africa, Asia and the Pacific, women work around 12 to 13 hours more per week than men. In 2016, they held only 37.8% of managerial positions, while men held 62.2%.

In the area of ​​agriculture, theWomen represent 43% of the rural workforce. But despite their key role in the sector, they are less likely to own or manage a property. Furthermore, they have less access than men to inputs, services, infrastructure and production technologies.

2. Education

According to UNESCO, women make up two-thirds of the 750 million adults without basic reading and writing skills. In the world, there are more girls than boys out of school.

3. Policy

Women occupy less than 15% of seats in the Legislative chambers in 70 countries. This number is valid both for the lower chamber and for the single chamber, in the case of countries where there are not two bodies in different hierarchical positions.

4. Family
