5 reasons that will convince you to have a minimalist wardrobe

Having a minimalist wardrobe basically means keeping only the pieces that you actually wear and not keeping the ones that you’ve only worn once that you know you won’t need again.

By leaving the closet with fewer pieces, consequently it will be more organized. And you don’t have to limit yourself to basic clothes. You can have few items, but that are functional and that combine well with each other, composing looks of different styles and for different occasions.

Here are five reasons that will make you rethink whether you really need to have such a full wardrobe!

1. Reduces the time to get ready

The time you spend looking through your closet full of options – and thinking you have nothing to wear – can be used to sleep a little more or watch that series you love so much. Knowing exactly what you have saves you time, as there is no indecision, and allows you to do more enjoyable activities.

2. Saves space

Sometimes when you take a piece out of place, a whole pile of clothes ends up falling off. That’s because the more pieces someone has, the more the closet is full and, consequently, more disorganized. Having fewer clothes, in addition to saving space, helps the room’s energy flow better.

3. Increases creativity

When there are fewer options, you have to be more creative and make new combinations, focusing on items that are wild and that can be used in other ways or with other pieces to complement.

4. You enjoy life more

With fewer choices to make, you will naturally be less stressed and therefore more satisfied with the decisions you make about what to wear. Highly successful people like Hillary Clinton and Mark Zuckerberg say having fewer clothes and wildcards is a great idea. This makes it easier to relax and have a less tiring and lighter life.

5. You save (a lot) money

If you’re not buying clothes, you’ll save money (at least, that’s the plan) that can be spent on other things you dream about, like vacations, trips, dinners…

To be able to reduce what you own, start by eliminating the pieces that you never use – or only rarely use. Leave only the ones you would use at least once or twice in a month. Organize in a way that makes sense to you, whether by colors or styles. And learn day by day to mix and match, creating new looks with what you have.
