5 Famous products whose brands share the consumer’s heart

They say that human beings are not capable of inventing anything new anymore. Of course, this is a controversial argument, mainly due to new technologies and the wide range of new products that we see on the shelves every day. This statement is defended by some brands that want to make people believe that their products are and always will be unique.

Today, we bring you some examples of super similar products that have been disputing public preference for a long time.

See how they struggle to get their customers’ attention.

Pepsi vs. Coke

It’s curious how humanity can be divided into two large groups: Pepsi lovers and Coca-Cola lovers. Several experiments have shown that these drinks have very different flavors, as the blue label is sweeter and has a citrus touch, while the red product has a certain vanilla flavor. However, the contents are almost the same.

Another difference is that Coca-Cola makes the product description clearer. On the other hand, the exact formula of Coca-Cola is still a secret, while Pepsi does not hide its recipe.

Lay’s vs. Pringles

This is another big dispute: Lay’s chips and Pringles. The taste is not very different, but it is curious how lovers of one do not like the other, and vice versa. In fact, Pringles chips are only 42% potato, the rest is sourdough. Lay’s Chips, on the other hand, are mostly just potatoes. One point to take into account is that the manufacturers do not hide the content of the products, leaving the consumer with the power to choose according to their taste, without secrets.

Lipton vs. Nestea

The rivalry between these two drinks is not as famous as the first one we analyzed, but none the less intense. The taste of the two drinks is very similar: concentrated tea, water, sugar or sweetener. However, the black Nestea’s label says it has only natural products, while Lipton acknowledges using artificial products. Apparently, Lipton has more fans around the world. Maybe that’s why the other brand intends to end production in different countries in 2018. Here in Brazilthese two products have, as a competitor, a weight mark, mate Leão, owned by Coca-Cola since 2007.

Orbit vs. dirol

This is for those who live abroad: despite the similarity of flavors, these gums have many differences. Some experiments have shown that the taste of Orbit tends to last longer than Dirol. According to statistics, most consumers (61%) prefer mint. Also, if you chew for a long time, Orbit doesn’t get as hard as Dirol.

Burger King vs. McDonalds

This is a controversial and well-known rivalry. Both brands have cheeseburger, But the recipes vary a lot.

According to Burger King, their sandwich has sesame seeds, while McDonald’s does not. People who go on romantic dates are said to opt for the former because it doesn’t contain onions. Regarding the nutritional values, the manufacturers claim that the McDonald’s sandwich contains 300 calories, while the Burger King contains more or less 550 calories. Running abroad, in Brazil, the Bob’s chain offers its Big Bob which, according to the company, has an exclusive sauce, for a total of 625 kcal.
