19 Stories from People Who Found Surprises in Their New Homes

They say that houses have their own faces and souls, as well as their own secrets and mysteries. Some are passed down to the new owners as a reminder of the old owners, while others have been hidden since the house was built.

We, from awesome.club, we find stories of people who moved into a new home and had a few surprises, or just spent time in a new place and were amazed by the surroundings. At the end of the article, we have a bonus especially for you.

“The seller of the house left me this sinister mirror”

This amazing floor has been hidden under the rug for 18 years. It’s at least a century old and brand new.

“There’s a small tower the size of a chimney above the garage, with windows on all four sides. I still don’t understand what it’s for

“We found, under the floorboards, a hiding place with plants from the previous owner. He worked in an architecture office.”

“It’s hard to believe, but this design decision was approved by my home’s previous owners”

“I bought a house, built in 1916, with this in the basement”

These crotons were planted around 1959, two years after the house was built. They have survived many storms and hurricanes, but still look beautiful today.

“During the renovation of the house, we discovered, behind the wooden panels, these wonderful stained glass windows ”

“I found a notebook from the early 1900s in the attic, with various sketches and notes. Here are some pages

“I switched pipes and found this treasure behind the bathroom wall — another bathroom”

“The former owners, who built the house, told us there was thermal insulation on the roof. Well, that’s true…”

“The unusual bathroom at my friend’s house. It’s right under the stairs and partially built into the wall. I try to stay away from this place”

“Originally the bathroom was upstairs so I assume the previous owners decided to have one more”

“We just bought a house and the previous owners left us a map with the names of all the plants on the land”

It was hidden behind the drywall

When we first moved into this house, we didn’t understand why there was a squirrel statue. We also don’t understand the meaning of the rug with the phrase “Clean your paws”. And then this guy showed up

Bonus: “When we first moved into this house, my wife asked me to fix the bathroom door handle. I, like any self-respecting man, replaced it with pliers.”
