New cat breeds appear all the time. Some of them as a result of accidental crosses or mutations. Others, on the contrary, are the product of a long and meticulous work of creation over many generations. Short fur, bald, yellow eyes, similar to tigers and leopards, folded ears, short legs… The imagination of breeders knows practically no limits.
Incrível.club loves kittens and has found the rarest, newest and most unusual kittens around the world living with their loving owners.
1. American Wirehair (American Wirehair)
The fur of these cats is similar to curly hair (hence the name of the breed), but in reality it is soft like that of other cats. If you are going to bathe a cat of this breed, it is best not to brush it so as not to damage its fur. American rough-coated cats are inquisitive, obedient and easily adaptable to change.
2. Sokoke
The African sokoke cat is similar to a small cheetah: it has a spotted color, with a characteristic collar and large ears, in addition to being hyperactive. The breed appeared in the late 70’s and became very popular in Europe. On a day-to-day basis, Sokokes are not capricious and independent, but owners do have to set aside a lot of time for play.
3. Nebelung
The nebelung comes from the Russian blue cat. He can be quite aggressive with the guests of the house, but he is very nice to his owner. Another characteristic symbol of this breed is the meow, the quietest among cats. Another of its characteristics is that it is generally very quiet.
4. Minuet
The minuet is the result of a cross between a munchkin and a Persian cat. These cats do not require any specific care and their high intellectual level and lack of aggression make them practically ideal pets. Until recently this breed was called Napoleon, as a reference to Napoleon Bonaparte’s short stature.
5. LaPerm
One of the most extraordinary cats in this collection is the LaPerm. The peculiarity is its coat with a natural permanent wave, which inspired the name of the breed. The lineage of these cute animals comes from a kitten who was born different from her siblings, in the United States.
6. Whipped cream-Tiffany
The Chantilly-Tiffany has a long, silky coat with chocolate tones and amber eyes. Cats of this breed are very intelligent, friendly and get along well with children. They are easy to care for, but their long coat needs to be brushed every week.
7. Bombay
This cat is similar to Bagheera from Rudyard Kipling’s The Mowgli stories, and despite its name, it was not discovered in India, but in the USA. The result was impressive: his large, round eyes of a strong amber-yellow and his dense, soft black fur make him look like a real panther. But his predatory appearance doesn’t stop him from being a very good house pet.
8. FoldEx
FoldEx is very much like a plush toy. The combination of the English Shorthair, the Scottish Fold, and the Persian, resulted in these furry cats with short ears and completely docile. The FoldEx is very peaceful, affectionate and dependent on its owner.
9. American curl
The most distinctive feature of the American curl is the unusual shape of its ears. The curls can be long or short, of any color, the important thing is that the ears are gently curled back. Curls are very faithful and “chatty” cats in excellent health.
10. Selkirk rex
It’s not just LaPerm that has permanent curl. The selkirk rex is another curly-haired cat breed. It is a hybrid of several breeds such as the Persian, the English Shorthair and the American Shorthair, with a dominant curly coat gene. The selkirk rex looks like a teddy bear, is very affectionate and has a sweet character. But you have to brush your fur daily, otherwise there is no way to avoid tangles.
11. Elf Cat
This hybrid of a sphinx, munchkin and curl cat has collected all the characteristics of these breeds: it is a small cat (weighs up to 2 kilos), with short, fat legs, folded back ears and no fur. It looks more like a fictional creature. The elf is very difficult to take care of. You need to bathe him often, and clean his eyes, nose, and ears every day.
12. Singapore
The record for the smallest cat belongs to the Singaporean breed. This feline is not capricious, it is distinguished by a perfect state of health and its small size is simply an advantage for it.
13. Lykoi
Lykoi are true wolves in the feline world. Their unique coat resembles the skin of a skunk: they have no hair on the face, forming a spot around the eyes, on the snout and in the mustache region, which gives them a werewolf appearance, hence the origin of the breed’s name. Despite their appearance, lykoi are very friendly and affectionate pets.
14. Kinkalow
The kinkalow is a mix of munchkin and american curl, and has very characteristic features of both breeds. From the munchkin it inherited its small size and short legs, and from the curl its folded-back ears. To this day, there are less than 100 kinkalows in the world, but the breed is becoming more popular every day.
15. Chartreux
It is one of the oldest European breeds, Carthusian monks bred them 600 years ago. Chartreux are big cats with honey-colored eyes, blue-grey fur, and an independent character. They adapt very well at home, but are very jealous of other pets.
16. American Ringtail
This breed, not yet fully recognized, is called the American ringtail, and it has a distinctive feature: its tail is always in the form of a ring, and it rests on its back, as in husky or laika dogs. American ringtails are very playful, curious, communicative and, unlike other similar ones, like water.
