15 years after the premiere, so are the actors of the movie “Encantada”

In 2007, the movie Enchanted was released, a great comedy that introduced the public to the adventures of a fairy tale princess, suddenly brought to the current life of our world. Since its debut, the charisma of the characters and the novel air of the plot have attracted the audience that, since then, continues to wait for a sequel.

In this article, the awesome.club wants to show how the main actors of the feature are, after 15 years of release.

Amy Adams was chosen from 300 actresses who auditioned for the role of Giselle. The character served to catapult the girl’s career, thanks to her sweet features and her musical skills. She even received a Golden Globe nomination for her performance in the feature film.

Since then, Amy has lived big roles in successful movies. In 2019, she was nominated for an Oscar for her performance in Vice, reaching a total of six nominations over her career. In 2022, she will star in the sequel to Enchanted alongside other members of the original cast.

Patrick Dempsey started his career at a very young age, acting in TV series and movies. When he starred in Enchanted, he was already considered a great movie heartthrob. Since then, Dempsey has not stopped working. His longest-running role was that of Dr. Derek Shepherd, on the series Grey’s Anatomy, played for 16 years, in 261 episodes.

And he’ll also be back in the Enchanted sequel in 2022.

James Marsden started his career at a very young age, thanks to his friendship with another actor, Kirk Cameron. After joining the supporting cast in several films, in 2006 he landed a role in the blockbuster Superman Returns, which opened the door for him to a more important character in the remake of the musical Hairspray. That same year, he was cast in Enchanted.

Since then, the actor has built an ascending career: in 2020 and 2022, he starred in the films of Sonic, a video game character. In 2022, he will return as Prince Edward in the sequel to Enchanted.

Timothy Spall is a British actor who has won several awards in his homeland. In the late 1990s, he fought a battle with leukemia, a disease that forced him to interrupt his career for a few years. Timothy resumed work and, in Enchanted, played the part of Queen Narissa’s faithful servant. It is he who seeks out Giselle in our world to deliver her into the evil hands of the monarch.

In 2022, The Pale Blue Eye will premiere, a film that also has Christian Bale in the cast, and Bolan’s Shoes, focused on the life of musician Marc Bolan.

Idina Menzel rose to great fame by becoming one of Broadway’s most recognized actresses, with the role of Elphaba in the award-winning production of Wicked, as well as in the musical Rent. After Encantada, in which she played Robert’s official fiancée, Idina continued making musical theater and cinema. In 2013, she voiced the character Elsa in the film Frozen, a role that won her a Grammy.

She will be in the sequel to Enchanted as Giselle’s rival.

Susan Sarandon is a renowned actress, counting on her resume with 162 performances in TV series and movies. Furthermore, she won an Oscar in 1997 for her role in The Last Steps of a Man. In Encantada, she embodies the main villain, the classic evil queen of fairy tales, who does everything to destroy Giselle.

With such a productive career, Susan Sarandon has never stopped acting and is currently working on the pre-production of an autobiographical film and a comedy.

Isiah Whitelock Jr. has starred in 122 movies and TV series. Although mostly in small roles, his work has always been well received by critics and audiences alike. In 2020, he was one of the leads in Spike Lee’s film Detachment Blood, playing a war veteran who returns to Vietnam in search of forgotten treasure. We remember him as a patron at Robert’s bar, who gets into trouble when Giselle gets involved in his divorce proceedings.

In 2022, we will be able to see him in the animation Lightyear, about the origin of Buzz, a character from Toy Story.

Tonya Pinkins is known as a theater actress and is now dedicated to film production and direction. In 2021, she launched herself as a director on Red Pill and is currently planning her second film, The Zombie Wedding. In Enchanted, she was Ethan’s wife. Thanks to Giselle’s intervention, the character rethinks her divorce and gives herself a second chance.

Tibor Feldman has worked on several film and TV productions, including Law & Order, Blue Bloods, Orange is the New Black, among others. He remains very active in the field of performing arts: in 2022 he will be in Good Egg, an independent film about in vitro fertilization.

In Encantada, he played Robert’s rival lawyer, who questions his professionalism, affected by the sudden arrival of Giselle.

Marilyn Sue Perry played a small but iconic role in Enchanted. She played the bus driver, the target of attack when Prince Edward appears. The actress continued to act, however, more often on TV and playing secondary characters. The last time we saw her was in 2020, on the series Good Girls.

Giselle goes barefoot when she first meets Prince Edward, a reference to Aurora, who was also barefoot when she met Prince Philip in Sleeping Beauty.

The restaurant where Edward and Giselle have dinner is called Bella Note. It’s the same name as the song we hear when Lady and the Tramp eat spaghetti, in the classic animation scene.

The apple given to her, when the protagonist couple walks through Central Park, has the design of a face similar to the one the Evil Queen gives to Snow White in the 1937 film.
