13 Netflix Crime Shows Worth Watching

Police series seek to leave the viewer electrified. These are dramas that, in general, explore the psychological side of the characters and intersperse different plots, such as action sequences and novels that are usually very dangerous. If you are a fan of Netflix, you must already know that the service has an extensive catalog of series with this theme, ideal for watching in your free time and performing the famous “marathons”.

O awesome.club created a list of 13 crime series that you can find on Netflix that are worth watching.

1. In-Game Security (bodyguard)

The series stars British actor Richard Madden, from game of Thrones🇧🇷 He plays David Budd, a military veteran who suffers from PTSD. After becoming a police officer, he is tasked with protecting an ambitious politician, Julia Montague, during a particularly uncertain time in England. The series has 6 episodes and each one intertwines political and psychological suspense, making the viewer constantly question what each character’s intentions are.

2. Mindhunter (mindhunter)

This crime drama stars Jonathan Groff and Holt McCallany and is based on the theories and career of John Douglas, founder of the FBI’s Behavior Analysis Unit and a pioneer in the use of criminal profiling to catch killers. The series is an adaptation of Douglas’ own book, Mindhunter… The First American Serial Killer Hunter, and explores both the police action and the psychological wear and tear of the protagonists caused by the work.

4. Unbelievable (Unbelievable)

Inspired by real events and based on information obtained by the research of the news agency that won the famous Pulitzer Prize for journalism in 2015, Unbelievable tells the story of a terrible crime and a serious miscarriage of justice. In 2008, 18-year-old Marie is attacked in her apartment by a man who abuses her while taking pictures. Despite her filing a formal complaint, the police drop the investigation. But 2 years later, detectives Grace Rasmussen (Toni Collette) and Karen Duvall (Merritt Wever) begin tracking a serial rapist who has the exact same modus operandi.

5. Commandments of a Serial Killer (13 Geboden🇧🇷

This series from Belgium features a killer who relies on the 10 commandments to decide who will be his next victim. Man commits crimes in the hope of making society aware.

6. Elite (Elite)

The Spanish series tells the story of several students at the private school “Las Encinas”. Young people’s lives are complicated when one of their classmates is murdered. Throughout 8 chapters, the viewer discovers more about the characters and the events before the crime. In season two, detectives begin looking for one of the young men who has mysteriously disappeared, in order to determine if it is related to the first murder.

The Argentine series has just premiered its third season on Netflix. Former police officer Miguel Palacios, played by actor Juan Minujín, enters a prison with a false identity. His objective is to infiltrate a criminal gang formed by prisoners and prison guards to obtain information about the whereabouts of a judge’s daughter, who was kidnapped by the gang.

9. Retribution (One of Us🇧🇷

With only 4 chapters, this series follows the tragic story of newlyweds who are murdered on their way home from their honeymoon. The mystery and suspense series manages to captivate the audience, who try to organize the clues and confused suspicions about each of the characters.

10. American Crime Story

The series is an anthology focused on America’s most notorious crimes and criminals. Each season tells a story and has a different cast. The first and second investigate the OJ Simpson trial and the Gianni Versace murder, respectively.

11. Eyes that Condemn (When They See Us)

Based on true events, the series tells the tragic story of 5 African-American teenagers, who were wrongfully convicted and sent to prison, accused of sexually abusing and almost killing a woman who was running in Central Park, New York, in 1989. 4-episode storyline takes place during the trial years, showing the struggle of young people to prove their innocence.

12. Peaky Blinders: Blood, Bets and Razors (Peaky Blinders)

The British series focuses on the character of Tommy Shelby (played by Irish actor Cillian Murphy), a World War I veteran who returns to his hometown along with other soldiers. Tommy has big ambitions for his gang of criminals, the Peaky Blinders, whose name arose from the tradition they had of sewing razor blades into their berets. Each season has 6 chapters and chronicles the various dirty business opportunities presented to Shelby.

13. The Sinner

This anthology series stars actress Jessica Biel and actor Bill Pullman in the first season. It chronicles the events that took place after Cora Tannetti (Biel) murdered a man in front of an audience, apparently having no reason to commit the crime. The detective (Pullman) becomes obsessed with the case, as he doesn’t believe she committed the murder for no reason. So he is determined to delve into the woman’s past and find out what led her to kill someone. The series has 8 chapters and two seasons. The third is currently in production.
