In 2016, Fernanda Gentil was one of the artists who supported the #SomosdeEstimação campaign by the NGO Grupo Estimação, from Teresópolis, in the mountainous region of Rio de Janeiro, in favor of the adoption of more than 1,400 animals looking for a new home. At the time, the institution that treated, fed, rescued and sent the pets for adoption was in an alarming situation, as donations decreased, while abandonment, which was already excessive, grew even more.

“It is a very noble cause. I admire the work of those who look out for those in need, for those who have nothing and who are in a situation of complete abandonment. I have a dog, Nala, my first daughter. It’s very easy for you to love a child you generated and carried inside you. Taking a child or an animal as if you’d fathered it and loving it without knowing its past is very generous. It is a very beautiful act”, told the journalist to the website Ego. Constantly, she also shares photos and loving declarations to her dog Nala, on her social networks.

Cleo Pires is one of the participants of AMPARA Animal (Association of Women Protectors of Rejected and Abandoned Animals), a non-governmental institution that serves and assists around 250 protectors with actions such as feed and veterinary care. The goal is to provide a dignified, kind and happy life for animals living on the streets.

“This is a very beautiful work of raising awareness and changing our relationship with animals, something I consider extremely important. Today there are more than ten million abandoned animals in São Paulo alone. I’m passionate about dogs. I have five at home: two purchased and three adopted,” said the actress to Revista Caras.
