12 Ancient Remedies That Help With Joint Pain

Researchers at the California University of Health Sciences found that patients who used guggul for a month had reduced pain, less swelling and stiffness.

How to use it:

Mix 1/4 teaspoon of guggul tincture (available at health food stores) with 1/2 tablespoon of water. Drink this mixture 30 minutes before each meal, 3 times a day.

eucalyptus oil

Eucalyptus oil has anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties. Not only does it help relieve inflammation, it also relieves pain associated with conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and even muscle injuries. A study conducted in South Korea in 2013 found that inhaling eucalyptus oil was effective in helping to reduce pain.

How to use it:

Mix 8 to 10 drops of eucalyptus oil with approximately the same amount of peppermint oil. Add 3 to 5 teaspoons of any carrier oil (or base oil) to this mixture, such as olive oil or moringa oil. The latter is especially recommended, as it is a powerful anti-inflammatory. Rub this compound on your aching joints and you will feel instant, refreshing relief.

black cohosh

Black cohosh acts as an antispasmodic for nerves and muscles. This plant contains anti-inflammatory salicylic acid (the basis for the active ingredient in Aspirin) and since ancient times it has been used to treat a wide variety of muscular, pelvic and rheumatic pains.

How to use it:

The recommended dose of black cohosh ranges from 40 milligrams to 80 milligrams per day. If you buy the tincture, add 2 to 4 milliliters to a glass of water or a cup of tea, 3 times a day. It is also possible to use capsules. IMPORTANT: People with liver problems, especially women, should avoid this herb.

Lower leg

Cinnamon contains a compound called cinnamaldehyde, which is responsible for its flavor and aroma. In addition, this element prevents the release of arachidonic acid, an inflammatory fatty acid. This makes cinnamon effective in reducing inflammation caused by conditions like arthritis.

How to use it:

devil’s claw

Devil’s claw is a plant that grows in the deserts of South Africa. It’s called like that

willow bark

Willow bark is one of the oldest traditional medicines and has been used to treat inflammation for centuries. In fact, people even during the time of Hippocrates (5th century BC) chewed willow bark to help treat inflammatory conditions. It contains a chemical compound called salicin which is similar to Aspirin. It has been proven to be very helpful in relieving joint pain related to osteoarthritis, particularly in the knees, back, hips and neck.

How to use it:

While some people actually prefer to chew unprocessed willow bark, it can also be found in capsule form at many pharmacies and almost all health food stores.
