10 Things and trends that we thought were super cool not long ago, but are now totally outdated

Although we are used to changing fashion trends, it is still quite tricky to keep up with all the modern guidelines regarding the other aspects of our routine. Sometimes we don’t even notice how some things and attitudes that were at the peak of popularity just a short time ago have become irrelevant.

We, from awesome.clubwe carefully analyze current trends and discover which products and habits will soon be forgotten entirely.

Weddings with many guests

According to statistics, almost half of couples regret the money spent on their wedding. Expenses for a wedding planner, videos and party favors are considered pointless. Currently, more and more people are opting for small and intimate weddings with a small number of guests or for not having the party, settling for just an official ceremony.

a dense base

In recent years, “makeup without makeup” is at the height of fashion, that is, that make-up that is as natural as possible with an even tone. In 2020, bright colors were added to naturalness: glitter on the eyes and cheeks, neon eyeliner. However, despite these touches, stylists advise making the look a little brighter, and using a dense foundation is no longer cool.

beards

The general conclusion is the following: in 2022 beards are still relevant, but they need to look more well-groomed than was accepted in past decades. Nowadays it is not enough just to grow a beard, it is necessary to take care of facial hair, creating a beautiful and neat beard shape.

Quotes on social media

Many people used to put motivational quotes in their social media account description: quotes from books, sayings of famous philosophers, scientists and celebrities. However, less and less people pay attention to these quotes. In fact, they have little meaning if, apart from writing them down, the individual does nothing to actually achieve the goal.

Eating in restaurants and cafeterias

Although it has become easier to order ready meals, statistics show that most people continue to cook at home. So they not only save money, but also eat healthier. Perhaps the reason for this is that cooking at home has become more convenient: food is typically delivered in less than an hour.

a private car

More and more people are giving up a private vehicle in favor of shared cars or public transport. Of course, not everyone has these options, especially if they live in the countryside or in a distant neighborhood, but an average urban inhabitant who, for example, takes the subway or bus to go to work, does not use a car so often.

According to surveys, about 40% of drivers are willing to use a shared car from time to time instead of a private one, and 20% said they would give up their own car if the price of shared cars became more affordable.

Perfect photos, edited and retouched

Before, both celebrities and ordinary Internet users posted only perfect photos on social networks, usually retouched, but nowadays the situation has changed. Today most have taken a simpler approach to photos and this applies to advertising as well. Influencers believe that it is possible to advertise a product using a common photo taken with a cell phone camera. And you no longer have to spend hours looking for the ideal angle or installing the perfect light.

An iron and general ironing

According to statistics, fewer and fewer people iron their clothes. The fact is that modern fabrics are most often synthetic, which means they wrinkle less. Those who have a tumble dryer at home have long forgotten what an iron is, because after drying, the fabric does not form wrinkles, and therefore there is no need to use an iron. And those people who still prefer clothes without a single fold, opt for steamers.

“Clean” food

A few years ago, people all over the world sought to eat healthier, fitter and “cleaner”: avocados, quinoa and gluten-free food were everywhere. In general, there is nothing wrong with this trend, but some people have become so enthusiastic about it that they refuse to eat any food that contains sugar or flavorings.

Now we begin to realize that such diets require a lot of restrictions, and it has not been proven that some foods, which fans of these diets advise avoiding, are even harmful to health. On the contrary, such restrictions can cause physical and mental health problems, and advertising these foods turns out to be just a marketing trap.
