10 steak parmigiana recipes that look like a restaurant dish

A main ingredient (usually a meat) breaded in flour and topped with sauce and cheese. This is, in general, the steak à parmigiana or fillet à parmigiana, a Brazilian dish (although, they say, it has suffered from Italian influence!) and which is a great success, both in restaurants and in family kitchens!

Although the best-known version is made with beef fillet (usually, filet mignon) or chicken, parmigiana has gained more and more variations, and can also be made with fish, eggplant, among other ingredients!

As in the case of stroganoff, and among other successful dishes in Brazilian cuisine, there are no rules when it comes to preparing steak parmigiana. Of course, there are “standard” recipes and inspirations, but each person can use creativity and their own “tricks” when preparing a good parmigiana dish!

You can, for example, take it to the oven instead of frying; use breadcrumbs instead of wheat flour, or even a “lighter” flour, among other ideas! Get inspired by the recipes below!

1. Beef Parmigiana breaded with breadcrumbs: you will basically use peeled tomato, rump steaks (or filet mignon or other of your choice), garlic, basil, water, eggs, breadcrumbs, mozzarella cheese, fry, salt and pepper.

2. Tofu Parmigiana: easy to make, it’s crispy and tasty. It is a vegan dish, and you can serve it as an accompaniment to meals, salads and also Moroccan couscous.

3. Filet à parmigiana breaded with amaranth: a classic with a light touch! Instead of breadcrumbs, the fillet is breaded with amaranth flakes, making it lighter and crispier. It’s worth a try!

4. Steak Parmigiana in the oven: a delicious recipe for your weekend. Even better if the steak is served hot, with lots of cheese, and accompanied by white rice and fries!

5. Four-cheese filet parmigiana: a filet mignon topped with the delicious combination of parmesan, gorgonzola, catupiry and mozzarella cheeses. A dish “not at all light”, but certainly delicious, so no one can fault it!

6. Filet Parmigiana Snack: a very different dish, ideal to serve and surprise friends! It’s a parmigiana filet that you can eat with your hands, and the best thing is that it’s not fried!

7. Chicken Parmigiana in the oven: making the parmigiana in the oven, you avoid frying and even less mess in the kitchen! For this recipe you will only need chicken breast cut into fillets, golden flaxseed flour for breading, eggs, tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese and oregano.

8. Different chicken parmigiana: the highlight of this recipe is a super crispy cheese cone. Underneath, the tender chicken breast, with a tasty sauce! And the best of all is that this ends up being a more practical and healthier version, because it doesn’t have frying.

9. Pork chop parmigiana: a way to innovate this popular dish! In addition to the pork chops, you will use tomato sauce, grated cheese, mozzarella, green seasonings, egg, wheat flour, breadcrumbs, seasonings to taste and oil for frying.

10. Eggplant Parmigiana: a vegan parmigiana! You will only use eggplants, flour, water, baking soda, breadcrumbs and salt. The recipe serves about four people.

Whether in the classic version or prepared in a special way, parmigiana is a successful dish, ideal for a family weekend lunch or simply to welcome friends at home!
