10 Cartoon Theories That Will Leave Your Jaws Dropping

Would you believe that Homer Simpson has been in a coma for 24 years? And that Pinky is the true genius of Pinky and the Brain? Well, who is claiming this is not us, but some cartoon experts who are dedicated to interpreting the messages behind them.

O awesome.club selected 10 surprising theories made by viewers about known drawings and their explanations. Check out:

10. “SpongeBob”

According to one theory, the happy cartoon about SpongeBob and his friends is an allusion to the seven deadly sins. Thus, Squidward would represent wrath; Patrick, the sloth; Your Krabs, avarice; Plankton, envy; Sandy, the pride; Gary the Gluttony and SpongeBob the Lust.

The latter may seem strange, but when we consider that the word “lust” is associated with love, it all makes sense: SpongeBob loves everyone around him.

9. “Hey Arnold!”

In the series, Arnold lives with his grandparents and doesn’t remember his parents. But maybe the boy lived with them all his life without ever suspecting! One of the fan theories claims that Arnold’s grandparents are his real parents. They would have had the child at an advanced age, so the character would have been born with a head in such a different shape. Phil and Gertie fear that the others would laugh even more at the “balloon head” boy who has elderly parents, so they would pretend to be his grandparents.

8. “Pinky and the Brain”

The cartoon’s opening music talks about two lab rats, one of which is a genius, while the other is a complete idiot. We always thought it was Brain and Pinky, respectively, but it’s quite possible that it was the other way around: Pinky is the true genius of the duo.

To support the theory, we can say that the “idiot” mouse always observes the obvious where the Brain doesn’t, in addition to making deep speeches that the “genius” pays no attention, always busy with his unrealistic plans to dominate the world.

7. “Aladdin”

The events of the cartoon unfold in Agrabah, an ancient city. Or would it be in a city of the future? The theory followed by some fans claims that Agrabah is a post-apocalyptic city in the distant future. Evidence of this would be the genius’s numerous references to the disciplines, shows and famous personalities of the 20th century.

6. “Up – High Adventures”

The moving story about the adventures of Mr Karl and little Russell is even more touching when we imagine that the old man was dead at the beginning of the plot. That’s why Russell would try to help Karl find the paradise waterfalls, as they would be the gateway to the world of the dead.

5. “The Incredibles”

This cartoon is not only remembered by the main family, but also by a charismatic secondary character: the stylist Edna Moda. Does she remember how she refused to make caped uniforms for the family, as the garment would have been the cause of death for many superheroes? And now she remembers how the film’s main villain died: her cape was sucked into a plane’s turbine. Thus, it would not have been The Incredibles who saved everyone, but Edna, who would have purposely prepared a caped outfit for the antagonist.

4. “The Simpsons”

This animated series has been running for 30 years, and there’s a very powerful theory surrounding it: for the last 24 years, everything we’ve watched has happened in the dreams of Homer, who would be in a coma! In season four, he falls into a coma and soon recovers. But according to one version, he never woke up, and everything that happens after that chapter is a delusion stemming from Homer’s coma. This would perfectly explain why the age of the characters doesn’t change.

3. “Monsters Inc” and “Brave”

Some theories go so far that they end up mixing more than one design. Remember Baby Boo from “Monsters Inc”? According to one of the theses, she tried to look for Sulley through the magic doors. And if such doors can move people and monsters through space, they could do the same for time. So Sulley goes into the world of the red-haired princess Merida, while the old witch is none other than Boo! Evidence: Sulley’s drawing on the wall and a truck with a pizza on the table. Where else could they have come from?

2. “WALL·E”

One of the darkest theories claims that the sweet robot WALL-E is responsible for the destruction of Planet Earth. According to the plot, the cleaning robots had to take care of the rubble of our world for 5 years, while people relaxed in a spaceship. However, 700 years have passed and the Earth is still full of garbage. All cleaning robots, with the exception of WALL-E, are gone. Theory thus suggests that WALL-E got rid of them all. A proof of this would be the moment when he finds an old robot and takes the parts for himself. However, he does not need them: in his refuge there are many parts of other robots. Could it be your post-battle trophies? The argument would explain why WALL-E is the only robot on the planet and why so much junk still exists.

1. “Despicable Me” and “Minions”

One of the theories circulating on the Internet claims that the cute appearance of these yellow creatures has to do with monstrous experiences. Supposedly, the masks in the photo are devices that serve to spread a poisonous gas. However, the photo shows rescue suits from the year 1908 created for submarine passengers. The creators of the Minions were inspired by the Jawas from “Star Wars” and the Oompa-Loompas from “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”.
