Although this fish has become world famous, mainly because of its surreal appearance, it is considered an absolutely unique and endemic being of Australia. Endemic species are those that inhabit a limited geographical area. Unfortunately, the species is at risk of extinction.

The fish, with three “legs”, also has an extraordinary appearance: the long stripes of spines that protrude from under the tail fin allow it to stay still at depths during the hunt. Because of this, he received the name “tripod fish”.

One could even say that these peaceful creatures are about to conquer the Planet, since, both on land and in the waters, it is estimated that there are around 10,500 species. Not to mention that, while some of them are almost imperceptible to the naked eye, others can reach 46 centimeters. Now imagine one half a meter.
